Job Summary:
The Cloud Developer will design, develop, and deploy cloud-based applications and services to support the mission of the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS). This role is responsible for optimizing cloud infrastructure for security, scalability, and performance while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based applications and services.
- Implement cloud architecture best practices, including microservices, containerization, and serverless computing.
- Deploy and manage cloud solutions on platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Develop and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for cloud applications.
- Implement security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and conduct regular security assessments.
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to integrate cloud solutions into the organization’s IT ecosystem.
- Provide technical support and training on cloud services to staff and faculty.
- Maintain detailed documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, and security policies.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:- Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or ServiceNow Certified System Administrator/Certified Application Developer.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years in cloud development, deployment, and infrastructure management.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of cloud computing principles, networking, and security.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with cloud automation tools and DevOps practices.
- Programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing.
- Ability to analyze and optimize cloud resource usage for cost efficiency.
Work Environment & Conditions:- Work will be performed on-site at DKI APCSS in Honolulu, HI.
- Standard work hours: Monday – Friday, 0800-1600 HST, except on federal holidays.
- Must comply with DoD security regulations and complete required security training.
