The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our forward-thinking team. In this exciting role, you will play a crucial part in managing, optimizing, and securing our data center operations, ensuring the seamless performance of our infrastructure. With 2-3 years of experience in VMware/Hyper-V virtualization, you will take on a range of responsibilities, from installing and maintaining hardware and software to troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring the availability of critical systems.
What you will do at VeSync:
- Install, test, maintain, migrate, and/or consolidate data center software
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and repair of critical data center hardware, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, telecommunications infrastructure, and peripherals, ensuring consistent functionality and high performance.
- Monitor and maintain the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes
- Maintain security of assigned hardware, software, and network systems
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required; configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
- Work with team members, technical staff, and vendors to perform or assist with diagnosing and resolving errors, malfunctions, and disaster recovery of assigned systems
- Create system usage policies and procedures by following best practices
- Coordinate all planned activities with team members and the IT department as appropriate
- Develop and provide technical training and support; provide backup to department staff as needed
- Prepare and maintain documentation, records, and reports related to assigned systems, service requests, project status, and assisted activities
- Integrate equipment and ensure adaptation with the existing IT infrastructure
What you bring to the role:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in System Administration, with a strong emphasis on VMware/Hyper-V virtualization technologies.
- Proven expertise in VM configuration, management, and networking, with a focus on optimizing virtualized environments.
- Strong analytical skills, with hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving system performance bottlenecks.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming to automate processes and achieve desired system outcomes.
- Extensive experience with monitoring tools and frameworks, enabling proactive system management and issue resolution.
- In-depth knowledge of data center and cloud-connected infrastructure, including hyper-converged systems, servers, routers, NAS/SAN storage solutions, switches (physical and software-defined), firewalls, web and spam filters, load balancers, and both server and desktop virtualization.
- Well-versed in data center software and technologies, including Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, patches, virus protection, Microsoft Office platforms (SharePoint, Teams), Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Microsoft Exchange, identity management systems, and databases (Microsoft SQL, AWS, PostgreSQL).
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Location: This is an on-site, office-based role in Tustin, CA.
Salary: Starting at $85,000/year
