IT Generalist Role
- As the IT Generalist, you will collaborate with the firm’s IT Manager to perform a variety of tasks including end user support, systems management, network administration, and inventory management. The IT Generalist will be responsible for assisting the firm’s IT Manager in supporting the firm’s information systems and serving as the first point of contact for staff IT needs. On-site work is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to employees
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
- Maintain and update systems and software
- Monitor system performance and ensure uptime
- Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating hardware
- Manage user accounts and access permissions
- Inventory management
- Phone System Management
- Review backup and security reports
- Document technical processes and procedures
- Project Management
- On-site work required
Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer or information science
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience supporting end users, networks and systems, preferably in financial services or similar industry
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; willingness to assist other departments with projects and quickly grasp new technologies
- Attention to Detail: Possess a high degree of attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- Organizational Excellence: Strong project management skills with a proven ability to organize, multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency installing and configuring PCs and laptops running Windows operating systems
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues on end user devices
- Device management using Intune or other MDM software
- Azure, Active Directory, Exchange and Office 365
- VPN, LAN, WAN setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Firewall configuration and management
- Experience with architecture and implementation of storage solutions
- Management of virtual environments such as VMware or Nutanix
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, including threat detection and prevention
- Proficient in scripting and automation using languages such as PowerShell or Python
- Salesforce administration including familiarity with Apex Code and JSON files
