Job Summary:
The Network Administrator II provides technical support for network communications, including LAN/WAN infrastructure setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include managing network hardware (routers, switches, wireless APs) while ensuring reliability and security. This role collaborates with stakeholders to optimize network performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
Network Operations & Maintenance (55%)
- Provide technical support for wired & wireless network infrastructure
- Install, configure, and maintain networking hardware & software
- Troubleshoot outages & escalated issues
- Travel within a 50-mile radius for on-site support
- Respond to ServiceHub tickets & implement network solutions
Project Engagement (10%)
- Offer technical recommendations for network projects
- Coordinate structured cabling & install network equipment
- Work with internal teams & external vendors
- Ensure successful implementation of network components
Documentation & Monitoring (10%)
- Maintain network infrastructure records & configurations
- Configure monitoring & event notification systems
- Participate in incident response & after-action reviews
- Update & close service desk tickets
Vendor Engagement (10%)
- Work with vendors for network-related services
- Manage circuit orders, upgrades, & cancellations
- Schedule vendor assessments & track project milestones
Inventory & Asset Management (15%)
- Maintain records of network hardware & software
- Track maintenance coverage & refresh cycles
Minimum Qualifications:
- CompTIA Network+ certification or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP & network infrastructure
- Experience with VLANs, ACLs, & troubleshooting
- Familiarity with network management tools (SNMP, CLI, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving & customer service skills
- Experience with ServiceNow ticketing systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco Meraki configuration & support experience
- Python scripting for network automation
- CCNA or CCNP (Route/Switch) certification
