C & B Material Handling, LLC, a leader in material handling equipment, automation solutions, and industrial equipment rental, is seeking a Junior System Administrator - Helpdesk for our Sioux Falls, South Dakota location. This role is essential for providing IT support, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining the stability and functionality of the organization’s IT infrastructure to support day-to-day operations. Essential Duties
- End-User Support: Serve as the first point of contact for IT-related issues, providing prompt assistance to users via phone, email, or ticketing systems. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Basic System Administration: Assist in monitoring and maintaining the organization’s IT systems, including user account management, password resets, and permissions in platforms such as Office 365 or Active Directory.
- Hardware and Software Maintenance: Perform basic setup, installation, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices. Ensure devices are updated with the latest software and security patches.
- Network Support: Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues with wired and wireless networks, VPN access, and shared drives. Escalate complex issues to higher tiers as necessary.
- Incident Logging and Escalation: Log all incidents and service requests in the ticketing system, ensuring accurate details and timely updates. Escalate unresolved issues to Tier 2 or senior team members when required.
- Documentation: Maintain and update IT support documentation, including knowledge base articles, user guides, and common troubleshooting steps, to enhance self-service options for users.
- System Monitoring: Monitor system dashboards and alerts for potential issues, reporting concerns to the appropriate team for resolution.
- Inventory Management: Assist in tracking and maintaining an inventory of IT equipment, ensuring devices are properly assigned and accounted for.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with other IT team members to support ongoing projects, system upgrades, and maintenance tasks, contributing to overall IT operations.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support organizational IT goals.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in an IT support or helpdesk role is preferred but not mandatory. Internships, coursework, or personal projects demonstrating technical skills are acceptable.
- Familiarity with basic system administration tasks, such as user account management and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Knowledge of common tools such as Active Directory, Office 365, and basic networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, VPN, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting).
- Exposure to system monitoring tools and ticketing systems is a plus.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, ITIL Foundation, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator are highly desirable but not required.
