Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Lead DevOps/SRE/DevSecOps in Pleasant Grove, UT. Summary: As a DevOps/DevSecOps/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will play a critical role as part of the Developer Experience (DevX) team, where you will balance leadership and hands-on technical responsibilities. In this role, you will manage a small, high-performing team of engineers in a player/coach capacity, driving initiatives that enhance security, reliability, monitoring, and delivery efficiency across the organization. Your leadership will include conducting one-on-ones, providing constructive feedback, and performing quarterly reviews, all while maintaining a hands-on approach to solving complex technical challenges. With expertise in at least one of the core disciplines (DevOps, DevSecOps, or SRE) and strong proficiency in the others, you will help define and implement best practices that elevate engineering standards and improve overall developer productivity. Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a DevOps/DevSecOps/SRE Mindset: Champion operational excellence across teams, empowering engineers to define, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot their software and infrastructure
- Lead and Mentor: Manage a remote-first team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented culture through mentorship, feedback, and regular check-ins
- Cost Optimization: Oversee cloud and infrastructure costs, maintaining vendor relationships and identifying opportunities for efficiency
- Drive Innovation: Stay current on cloud technologies and architectural patterns, recommending tools and practices that align with business goals
- Automation and Tooling: Develop and maintain tools to automate infrastructure and CI/CD processes, increasing reliability and efficiency
- Infrastructure Leadership: Contribute to large-scale initiatives such as multi-region availability, cloud migrations, and scaling solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of professional experience across cloud, DevOps, DevSecOps, and SRE roles, with at least 4 years in public cloud environments
- Proven experience in managing and mentoring teams in a player/coach capacity
- Expertise with containerization and orchestration tools, especially Kubernetes
- Strong knowledge of networking, security principles, and protocols
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Terraform, CircleCI, SaltStack, Python, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with GCP and tools like New Relic and Jinja is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative and agile mindset

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
