Systems Administrator II
- Job Type: Full- Time, Fully Onsite
- Location: QTCC, Tulsa or Dallas, TX
- Position Details: We are 99% virtual and are a “VMWare shop”. We are 95% Windows Servers and 5% Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). We have 1500 virtual servers and 125 physical hosts across two datacenters.
- In the early stages of a move towards infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and containers, as well as introducing Ubuntu Server into our environment.
- Actively moving services and applications into the Azure cloud and will begin supporting Azure operationally within the next 12 months.
- Support all compute workloads as well as storage in a highly available configuration and ensure protection of all data. Support/administer various third-party applications and internal development teams for all QuikTrip’s proprietary applications.
- Utilize proactive monitoring for all critical systems.
- Our team maintains an on-call rotation to provides 24/7 support for all critical infrastructure we are responsible for within the company. This entails one week of a secondary support role and one week of a primary support role once every 6-8 weeks.
- Skills Needed:
- 4+ years’ experience managing VMWare, Storage (Pure experience is a plus), Backup and HA principals, Fibre Channel (Brocade is a plus).
- Requirement of 3-4 years knowledge of managing Azure and container products.
Key Skills & Requirements:
✅ System Administration: Strong background in Microsoft Active Directory, VMware, Microsoft IIS, and Microsoft Exchange.
✅ VMware Management: Hands-on experience in VMware administration and troubleshooting.
✅ Storage: Experience with iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and general storage management (Pure Storage experience is a plus).
✅ Backup & High Availability (HA): Strong understanding of backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and high availability principles.
✅ Microsoft Technologies: Expertise in Microsoft Operating Systems.
✅ Networking: Strong understanding of network technology & topology (not a networking role, but networking knowledge is a plus).
✅ Cloud Experience: Minimum 3+ years of hands-on Azure experience (mandatory).
✅ IBM Technologies: Experience is a plus.
✅ IT Department Background: Must have prior experience working in an IT operations team.
✅ Full Lifecycle Understanding: Must be familiar with end-to-end IT system operations.
✅ Troubleshooting: Strong ability to identify and resolve system issues efficiently.
