Kyverna is recruiting a Cloud Systems Administrator in its Information Technology organization to help advance its mission to free patients from the siege of autoimmune disease. Location: Emeryville, CA (Hybrid – in office twice a week - Tuesday/Wednesday)
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure & Security, the candidate will have the following responsibilities:Design and Implementation: Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure based on business requirements. This involves architecting reliable, scalable and secure systemsInfrastructure Management: Manage and maintain infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and security components. This may involve configuring virtual machines, containers, databases, and other cloud services. Manage SSL/TLS certificates and infrastructureMonitoring and Optimization: Monitor system availability and performance as well as identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization to ensure cost-effectiveness and performance efficiencySecurity and Compliance: Implement security best practices and compliance measures to safeguard data and infrastructure in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirementsAutomation and Orchestration: Automate routine tasks and workflows using scripting languages or configuration management tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual errorsBackup Management: Manage and maintain cloud backup solutions and ensure recovery processes are reliable and secure Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot issues, investigate root causes, and provide timely resolution to incidents and service requests. Offer technical support and guidance to internal teams or end-users as needed Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud environments, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster continuous learning and improvement
RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or relevant experience5+ years of experience in system administration, network administration, cloud computing or similar roleCloud Platforms: Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Certification in one or more cloud technologies is often preferred (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate)Networking and Security: Strong understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, SSL/TLS). Experience with firewall configuration, access control, and encryption techniquesScripting and Programming: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Containerization and Orchestration: Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as KubernetesIdentity and Access Management: Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols and their operational capabilities (e.g. Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication)Collaboration and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. The salary range for candidates residing in Northern California for this position is $115,000 to $145,000 annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation geographic location, individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for bonus, benefits, and participation in Company’s stock option plan.
