Job Summary
The U Asia Campus Student Ambassador position works for the U Asia Campus staff based at the Salt Lake City campus under the Office for Global Engagement. Student Ambassadors are predominantly responsible for representing the U Asia Campus and promoting U Asia Campus opportunities to both the on-campus community as well as the greater Salt Lake City community.
Primary tasks include tabling, classroom presentations, attending community events to promote the U Asia Campus, serving on student panels related to the U Asia Campus, collaborating with on-campus offices and student groups, discussing the U Asia Campus with prospective students, participating in various event committees, assisting the Marketing Team in any ongoing projects and initiatives for the U Asia Campus, assisting with social media content creation, and assisting with general office responsibilities as needed. This position may include additional responsibilities not outlined above that help support the mission and initiatives of the U Asia Campus and the Office for Global Engagement.
Responsibilities
Student Ambassadors are expected to work about 10 hours per week during the school year (students are not required to work during finals or school breaks). These hours can be a combination of tabling and networking events, classroom visits, office hours, and more. We occasionally have events outside of the typical Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm work week. It’s not required that students attend all of these events, but we ask that students occasionally participate at these events if their schedule allows.

Minimum Qualifications
- Student has previously studied at the U Asia Campus for a minimum of 1 semester
- Be a full-time undergraduate student for the 2024-2025 academic year
- Student has at least 2 semesters left before graduation
- Be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University
- Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Display friendliness, professionalism, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic
Preferences
- Experience performing community engagement and outreach
- Experience with and enthusiasm for public speaking
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to last-minute requests or schedule changes
- Enthusiasm for the development of new skills and knowledge
- Ability to attend occasional tabling and networking events during evenings or on weekends
