ITnova is seeking a skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our team on a long-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will manage, support, and optimize the IT infrastructure for a key client, the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC), and other airport stakeholders. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of systems, servers, and applications, while collaborating closely with technical teams to support various airport technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of servers, storage, and systems across the network.
- Administer and optimize Windows, Linux, and virtualized server environments.
- Ensure the security and integrity of systems by applying patches, updates, and security best practices.
- Support and maintain enterprise applications, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and providing solutions to system issues.
- Manage system backups, disaster recovery processes, and data protection strategies.
- Support the integration and management of C.U.T.E. (Common Use Terminal Equipment) systems and airport-related technologies.
- Collaborate with network and security teams to ensure seamless system performance and adherence to security policies.
- Manage user access, permissions, and system accounts in accordance with best practices.
- Implement and manage systems monitoring tools, ensuring proactive issue resolution and performance optimization.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for RIAC and airport stakeholders, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Assist with system documentation, configuration management, and change control processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Senior Systems Administrator or in a similar role, managing large, complex systems.
- Strong knowledge of server administration (Windows, Linux, and virtualized environments).
- Experience in managing system security, including patch management, firewalls, and anti-virus software.
- Expertise in backup and disaster recovery processes, including planning and execution.
- Familiarity with C.U.T.E. infrastructure and airport-related technologies is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to resolve system issues quickly and efficiently.
- Experience with systems monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, etc.) to ensure system uptime and performance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work with non-technical stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment to achieve objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or equivalent systems certifications.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with airport IT environments or transportation systems is a plus.
- Experience in managing enterprise-level applications and large-scale IT infrastructures.
Contract: Two-year contract
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Normal business hours)
