About the role
Business Development at Coalition is about creating and maintaining mutually beneficial and collaborative relationships with our broker partners and customers. We are looking for an experienced sales professional in the UK to help us develop the cyber market and empower the success of our partners by matching Coalition’s proposition, innovations, and capabilities with a broker’s business goals to enable joint success.
Our U.K. HQ is in London, with the offices of our broker partners spread across the country. The role will be predominantly remote, with an expectation of regular travel to broker offices to focus on increasing our penetration into the insurance market in the North of England, Scotland & Northern Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Develop existing & new agency relationships for Coalition utilising your existing relationships as well as from inbound leads and strategic outreach
- Identifying target agencies for new outbound campaigns
- Contribute significantly to the growth ambitions of Coalition in the UK by driving a consistent flow of qualified opportunities into our sales pipeline and ensuring we close business
- Develop robust relationships with all levels of relevant staff across your panel of brokers to influence both cyber strategy and day to day trading, aspiring to achieve trusted advisor status
- Report, track, and manage sales activities and results
- Manage post-sales activities for your panel of broker partners through strong relationship-building, product knowledge, planning and execution
- Own the ultimate responsibility for your brokers’ satisfaction with Coalition’s services
- Maintain a deep understanding of our solutions (insurance and technology), building a strong internal network and speak with brokers about the most relevant features/functionality for their specific business needs to drive submissions and bind orders
- Identify risks to the brokers achieving their stated business goals and work with them to resolve and overcome such challenges
- Monitor performance and identify trends in Coalition adoption and utilisation across your broker panel and provide guidance to brokers as part of your regular engagement
- Build and/or maintain an external profile in the industry through networking & trade events, engagement with local institutes and public speaking engagements where the opportunity arises
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years experience selling commercial insurance
- An established professional network predicated on strong relationships with key decision makers within commercial insurance brokers
- A proven track record of driving results
- Self-motivated, proactive and entrepreneurial spirit
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment & accepting responsibility
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal & written)
- Aptitude to learn technical concepts and terms
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with Cyber Liability and Technology PI (Professional Indemnity) insurance
- Previous experience at onboarding brokers to quote/bind platforms
- Previous experience at helping brokers directly sell to end insureds.
- Technical background in engineering, computer science, or cybersecurity
