T-Rex Solutions is seeking a qualified Senior Database Architect to support of a secure customer located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah (HAFB). The overall program that this role supports aims to modernize legacy USAF network infrastructure and migrate services into a new AWS Cloud Environment. For any candidates not already local to the Ogden, UT area, T-Rex is offering a relocation support package to assist with moving costs.
Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee management of the data center physical environment, including but not limited to servers, storage, network systems, security, power, and environmental conditioning, as well as any other elements necessary to sustain physical and virtual environments used to host and manage customer data.
- Evaluate data center capacity planning; participate in the planning and implementation of data center upgrades and expansions; oversee and manage transition from tape-based backup system to on-prem and Cloud Cohesity.
- Collaborate with customers, users and contractors to define requirements; develop and deliver network solutions that address location of hardware, environmental conditioning, power, sustainment and other challenges and goals; manage and troubleshoot network issues; design expansion or addition of network infrastructure; oversee the installation and configuration of networking equipment and related systems; conduct network assessments and audits; create, update and maintain network documentation.
- Review, analyze and design customer data architecture; define and implement data management, security and privacy strategies, and governance policies and principles.
- Review, analyze, design, implement and manage customer data systems and data life cycles; design and manage data cataloguing, classification, filtering, masking and anonymization methods; design data flows, plan future databases, and implement solutions to store and manage increasing volumes of customer and user data.
- Design, document and manage data archival, recovery, and loss prevention policies and procedures.
- Participate as needed in planning and implementing data migrations.
- Apply standard CISCO design principles to data center infrastructure.
- Develop strong relationships with customer stakeholders; consistently understand and address customer requirements; identify solutions that meet customer needs.
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Business or IT related field with ten (10) or more years of related professional experience. A Master's Degree and 8+ years of experience or a PhD and 6+ years of experience may be substituted.
- Must possess an Interim or Active Secret Clearance
- Must possess an active Security+ Certification
- Possess strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of configuration and document management principles.
