WorldWide Electric is a national distributor and manufacturer of electric motors, motor controls and gearing both in private labeled lines and manufacturer’s brand labels, some of which are well known throughout the world. We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Systems Engineer.
Position Description
The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for problem solving open IT/Technology issues. You will also be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive technology solutions across our diverse technical infrastructure. The IT Systems Engineer reports directly to the Computer/Network Support Manger. This candidate is responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and a clean working environment that fosters a high level of customer care and a high sense of empathy and urgency in responding to and resolving open technology issues. Job duties also include project related work as directed by the Computer/Network Support Manager. The mix of help desk work and project work adjusts to meet current needs. This role will involve some travel and some off-hours work.
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Provide exceptional customer support and professional IT/Technology Support Desk to WorldWide Electric users.
· Implementation and management of backup technologies that are image and file based. Disaster Recovery and replication technologies such as Veeam
· Implementation and administration of Microsoft Enterprise Management Tools including Intune, EntraID, Azure Virtual Desktop, Exchange Online, etc.
· Infrastructure design, implementation and management. Including experience managing routers, switches, firewalls and wireless systems across multiple geographic locations.
· Aligning organization technology goals with business requirements
· Troubleshooting network and system issues
· Security best practices system hardening
· Occasional travel to other WorldWide Electric locations.
· Manage IT/Technology assets across WorldWide Electric locations
· Escalate issues as appropriate.
· Adhere to the Technology Department’s Service Level Agreements using ticketing system.
· Be available for off-hour project work as needed as directed by Supervisor. Scheduled in advance.
Qualifications
· 5+ years professional enterprise IT or consulting experience.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft EntraID/AAD and Microsoft M365
· Cloud modernization experience. Specifically, migrations from on-prem Active Directory environments to EntraID and AVD
· Networking fundamentals including management of DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Active Directory, routing, switching, firewalls, Wi-Fi networks, etc.
· Strongly preferred: Experience with FortiNet FortiGate firewalls, Meraki switches, Meraki WAPs, Intune
· Formal IT education and/or technical certifications are preferred. (i.e., MS-Azure, Cisco, FortiNet)
· Strong people skills and experience working in a team environment.
