Overview:
Traxccel is seeking a skilled and client-focused Data Architect to join our dynamic team on-site in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Azure services and Databricks, with a proven ability to lead complex data projects. This role involves direct client communication for Traxccel's projects, as well as the management of data-related resources across both onshore and offshore teams.

- Client Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary technical liaison with clients, understanding their business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
- Build strong relationships with clients to ensure their data and analytics needs are met effectively.
- Provide regular updates to clients on project status, risks, and deliverables.
- Data Architecture Design & Implementation:
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures using Azure services and Databricks.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Lead the integration of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data into data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms.
- Team Leadership & Resource Management:
- Manage and mentor onshore and offshore data teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and deadlines.
- Collaborate with offshore teams to deliver high-quality solutions while maintaining efficient communication and workflow.
- Provide guidance on technical challenges and ensure the team's adherence to best practices.
- Project Management & Delivery:
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of data projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Identify risks and mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and data governance policies.
- Technical Expertise:
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, and more, to architect and deliver solutions.
- Leverage Databricks for advanced analytics, ETL pipelines, and big data processing.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and provide recommendations for technology adoption.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, with a strong focus on Azure services and Databricks.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing large-scale data solutions in enterprise environments.
- Proven experience working directly with clients and leading technical discussions.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL, Power BI).
- Strong understanding of data engineering, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience with cloud architecture, big data technologies, and analytics platforms.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or SQL.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience managing cross-cultural teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in working with offshore teams.
- Certifications in Azure or Databricks (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Databricks Certified Data Engineer).
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
