Senior System Analyst

Primary Purpose
Responsible for the design, development, testing, maintenance and running of major and minor applications which support UHA business processes. Lead or participate in the implementation of projects using UHA standard project management methodologies. Respond to end-user support issues and requests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Application Development and Maintenance:
- Work with UHA stakeholders, from staff level to executives, to develop requirements for new or modification to major and minor applications.
- Design, code and/or modify applications according to requirements and specifications.
- Work with UHA stakeholders to develop test plans and test cases. Ensure plans and cases encompass both functional and technical (e.g., null values, OWASP, performance) scenarios.
- Ensure that coding standards and best practices are met, in particular, secure programming standards such as OWASP.
- Ensure applications are fully documented such that a Systems Analyst unfamiliar with the application can quickly understand the program flow and make effective and efficient changes.
- Monitor and manage applications for defects
- Partner with a Project Manager or sometimes lead the implementation of projects using UHA standard project management methodologies and artifacts. These include development and approval/use of: Business Case Documents, Business Requirements Documents, Solution/Vendor Selection Documents, Gantt Charts, Issue Logs, etc.
- Ensure changes made to production applications and systems are done in accordance with UHA change management processes and procedures.
- Schedule and/or run applications, jobs and scripts as required in support of UHA production activities. Monitor that these complete successfully and take corrective action if unsuccessful.
- Respond to end user support issues and requests. Quickly resolve or escalate resolution to appropriate IS support staff. Monitor and ensure end user needs are satisfied.
- Demonstrated ability to drive requirements, design, development and testing of business applications.
- Strong working knowledge of secure software development best practices and methods.
- Strong working knowledge of Project Management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.
- Strong working knowledge of advanced data analytics and visualization tools such as MS Power BI, Tableau or Qlik
- Strong working knowledge of process documentation tools, e.g., MS Visio, and business process documentation methodologies, e.g., RPM, flowcharting, swim lanes, use cases, UML.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with others, including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside UHA
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Knowledge of EDI concepts and implementation, e.g., XML, X12, HIPAA EDI standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
- 5 years of software experience with demonstrated ability in the following:
- App Development - .Net MVC framework, C#, Git
- MS SQL Development – T-SQL, Stored Procedures, SQL Views
- Web Development - Bootstrap, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL. JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS, Vue.js, or AngularJS
- Scripting – BCP, SQLCMD, PowerShell
- Experience with demonstrated ability in data analytics and reporting:
- Using Excel, SQL, MS Access
- Crystal Reports
Preferred and Advanced Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Health Care industry
