We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a Loss Control Consultant to join our esteemed Commercial Lines team within the Atlantic South region. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in delivering risk management and loss control services to our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include gathering essential risk assessment data for our underwriting teams, pinpointing potential risks related to various accounts, and providing insightful recommendations aimed at minimizing those risks.
This position is primarily field-based, with a focus on Northern and Central Delaware. Preference will be given to candidates residing in Wilmington, Newark, or Dover, DE, as well as Southeast Pennsylvania (greater Philadelphia area). However, we remain open to exploring other locations for exceptional candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field visits and execute both onsite and remote risk assessments.
- Oversee internal report evaluations, ensuring adherence to established recommendations and guidelines.
- Gather objective data on a variety of accounts, supplying vital risk information to underwriters in line with regulatory standards.
- Cultivate and sustain effective relationships with insured clients and their representatives.
- Develop, implement, and oversee property and casualty service plans that drive risk mitigation initiatives.
- Collaborate with underwriting and distribution partners to provide comprehensive feedback on accounts, including the identification of high hazard exposures.
- Ensure that risk surveys and reports are thorough and present a clear understanding of potential risk elements.
- Effectively prioritize and manage work assignments, delivering timely reports on assessments, new business, renewals, and large account service programs as per established deadlines.
- Maintain all necessary professional designations and certifications as mandated by regulatory bodies for loss control services.
- Follow department protocols and consult with management as necessary on various accounts.
- Uphold a professional and positive image in interactions with clients, agents, and internal stakeholders.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel overnight as required, potentially up to 30% of the time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Safety Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in property/casualty insurance, with at least three years in a loss control capacity.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth through the pursuit of industry designations (CSP, CIH, PE, CPCU, etc.).
- Proven expertise in planning and executing risk reduction services with clients.
