Position: Linux Systems Administrator (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Onsite in Aurora, CO
Pay: Up to $80.32 per hour
Clearance Requirement: A U.S. government issued TS/SCI + polygraph security clearance is required at the time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Due to the nature of work performed in the facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
GeoLogics is seeking a talented Linux Systems Administrator to work with one of our aerospace and defense partners in Aurora, CO. This is a full-time, contract position with the opportunity for direct-hire employment.
Job Overview:
System Administrators collaborate with a diverse team to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide IT systems administration of RedHat Enterprise Linux environments.
- Understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
- Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
- Understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
- Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.
- Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
- Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate up to 5% travel.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have a current and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- B.S. degree and minimum of 5 years of experience (or 3 years with a M.S. degree). Applicants who don't meet the education requirements will be considered based on experience.
- Linux experience
- Experience administering Red Hat Linux based systems
- Must have scripting experience
- Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with patching, creating/maintaining RPM packages
- Experience with performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security hardening
- Administer, maintain and troubleshoot Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket)
- Experience with Jenkins automation
- Configuration of Scanning tools Nessus/McAfee
- Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS and LDAP
- Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency
- Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors
