This is a part-time / on-call position that provides technical simulation expertise to primarily conduct system administration preparation and server operation in support of the Joint Multinational Simulation Center. The work location will primarily be at Grafenwöhr, Germany with the possibility of working at distributed NATO member simulation centers.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Create constructive, battle command interface, and gaming simulation databases in support of an exercise, event or testing
• Install and perform system administration for constructive, battle command interface and gaming models.
• Work from specifications and installation documentation to develop, and or modify operating systems applications.
• Integrates, and executes constructive simulations in Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) simulation architectures integrated with AMCS and C4I systems
• Operates simulation software in a distributed architecture in DIS, HLA and JLVC environments.
• Responsible for technical operations, setup and tear down servers, battle command systems and integration tools, maintaining accreditation documentation for constructive, battle command interface and gaming models fielded; providing input to exercise design and technical planning products.
Required Education and Experiences
• A bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience OR an associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience OR a major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience OR 11 years of recent specialized experience.
• An U.S. Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI access.
• CompTIA Security+
Desired Skills and Qualifications
• Experience in installation and configuration of Windows 7 or 10 or Linux 6 or 7 OS.
• Experience with creating all constructive, battle command interface, and gaming simulation databases in support of an exercise, event or testing.
• Experience with US DoD modeling and simulation, and chemical and biological defense programs.
• Experience in building databases for WARSIM, JCATS, JDLM, JLOD, etc.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to document and update processes
• Ability to perform tasks under deadlines
• Ability to work with senior Government and Industry leaders
• Must have a very high degree of attention to detail
• Must be capable of working at a computer terminal for extended periods
• Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills
