Job Overview
As a Switch Installation/Migration Technician, you will be responsible for the installation of new network switches or migration of legacy network switches to new network switches and related equipment. You will work closely with our engineering and IT teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our client's network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation: Install network switches and other related hardware according to company standards and client requirements.
- Pre-migration: Perform pre-migration activities according to company standards and client requirements.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot any issues that arise to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the network.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, and maintenance activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, IT, and customer support, to deliver high-quality service and support.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to clients and internal teams as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in network switch installation and configuration.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network protocols, switch configuration, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of various network hardware and software is essential.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous and thorough in performing tasks to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Adaptability: Flexible and able to adapt to changing technologies and client needs.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar are a plus.

- Hours will include some evening hours
- $35 per hour
- 25 – 30 hours average per week
- Paid weekly (1 week in arrears)
- 1099 contractor
- Must complete HIPAA compliance course
