As a Platform Systems Engineer IV, you will:

Diagnose and resolve performance, security, and/or technical challenges related to enterprise platforms
Provide Tier 3 IT systems support on a wide range of technologies across classified enterprise systems

A week in the life of a Platform Systems Engineer IV:

Design and implement scalable platform architecture in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Lead the development and deployment of platform components, services, and applications.
Drive security best practices and troubleshoot complex issues to minimize downtime.
Performing requirements analysis, requirements gathering, and integration for all platforms
Investigating and resolving operational problems with other engineering and technical personnel
Work on project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases within the customer’s production IT environment
Providing direction and guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers

Requirements

Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility
DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification required (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP)
Bachelor’s degree
10+ years of related experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role OR 12+ years of experience in lieu of degree
Experience designing and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure architectures in cloud and on-premises environments across IL5 to IL6+ domains.
At least 2 years of experience administering Linux (RHEL) systems
- proficient in Linux administration, including managing users, permissions, networking, and storage.
- comfortable with commands for system monitoring, package management, and shell scripting
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Systems, EMC SANs, and VMware products
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues

NOTE: This position is 100% on-site.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
