The Technical Instructor will be responsible for providing classroom and/or virtual instruction to students in a manner that is consistent with the course textbooks and/or lab materials. The Technical Instructor conducts practical exercises in classroom/lab environment and works closely with students to reinforce materials taught in the classroom/lab.
Primary Objections of the Technical Instructor
• Provides classroom instruction to students as prescribed by the textbook and/or lab materials according to GBSI standards;
• Collects student evaluations using a designated evaluation system and rosters daily student attendance;
• Develops training slides, lab materials, tip sheets and other approved materials needed for delivering effective training;
• Prepares classrooms as needed, to include returning tables & chairs back to the initial position, removing trash, recycling or returning extra training material accordingly, and disposing of proprietary material in designated destroy bin;
• Demonstrates presentation skills to enhance training and education of the students;
• Applies analytical, organization, and time management skills;
• Serves as liaison and is the key for relationship building at the place of performance;
• Prioritizes and meets deadlines;
• Works independently and as part of a team;
• Actively pursues learning opportunities in the training field;
• Willing to travel 65% of the time to provide instruction to students located at multiple learning sites;
• Assist Technical team with technical setup and requirements in support of training events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must have four (4) to six (6) years of experience instructing information technology subjects;
• Must have experience and current certifications in delivering content in IT networking related disciplines (i.e. Sec+, Certified Ethical Hacker, CISSP, and CISCO related courses including CCNA Voice, CCNA Wireless, , ICND2-CCNA, ICND1-CCENT, SWITCH-CCNP, TSHOOT-CCNP, and ROUTE-CCNP);
• Certifications to include CompTIA Security + (SYO-401), EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker – CEH, ISC² Certified Information Systems Security Professional – CISSP;
• Possesses interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels of students;
• Strong subject-matter expertise in the area of network infrastructure, hardware, and security services, as well as substantial experience delivering courses to large-scale enterprise company employees;
• In-depth knowledge of large company deployment and support processes for management of network and security infrastructure;
• Must be team and detail oriented, possess a positive attitude, and a strong passion for customer satisfaction;
• Consulting, deployment or support experience by instructors in large enterprise environments is highly desirable.
