Summary
Taylor University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Systems Analyst to join our Infrastructure Services team. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the efficient management and operation of Taylor University’s server and storage resources.
This position requires a high level of expertise and a proactive approach to managing and securing the university's critical infrastructure systems. They are a member of a dynamic team environment and will be expected to handle a variety of tasks and projects based upon university priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Windows Server
- Install and configure physical and virtual Windows servers.
- Manage and secure physical and virtual Windows servers, in partnership with the Security Analyst.
- Maintain inventory and monitoring for all Windows servers.
- Microsoft Exchange
- Manage Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online hybrid environment.
- Create one-off mailboxes and Microsoft 365 groups.
- Microsoft Teams/Cloud PBX
- Administer Microsoft Teams and Cloud PBX communications systems.
- Support communication and collaboration needs for campus users.
- Data Storage & Backups:
- Install and manage the university Storage Array Networks, in partnership with the Systems Analyst (Linux).
- Manage university on-premise and cloud backup systems, in partnership with the Systems Analyst (Linux) and Applications Analyst.
Secondary/Backup Responsibilities:- ID Card System Management:
- Assist in managing the university's ID card system, ensuring accurate and secure identification processes.
- Intranet Management
- Work with the Applications Analyst to oversee the administration and maintenance of the university's SharePoint Online environment.
- Authentication/SSO
- Manage the university's Active Directory and Entra ID environments alongside the Applications Analyst.
- Implement security measures to protect directory services alongside the Applications and Security Analysts.
- Assist in managing authentication processes, including single sign-on solutions.
- Identity Management:
- Support Identity Management initiatives, including user provisioning and de-provisioning.
- Infrastructure Applications:
- Manage and optimize internal team applications, such as inventory management and dashboarding.
- In partnership with the Applications Analyst and the User Services team, manage and maintain print infrastructure software and services.
- Ticket Escalations:
- Act as a point of escalation for complex IT issues, providing expertise and resolution.
Additional Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Team:- Log Review: Regularly review system logs for security incidents and operational insights.
- Data Backup: Implement and manage data backup strategies to prevent data loss.
- Scripting/Integrations/Automations: Develop and maintain scripts and automate routine tasks.
- SSL Certificates: Manage SSL certificates to ensure secure communication.
- Monitoring Infrastructure: Monitor infrastructure components for alerts and generate insightful reports.
Typical Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in managing infrastructure systems in a professional role.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange/Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Microsoft Entra ID, and Cloud PBX (Teams Phone).
- Proficiency in backup and disaster recovery (Commvault) procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Scripting and automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA) are a plus.
- Ability to make mature decisions, have good interpersonal skills, mature judgment, ability to learn quickly, ability to plan and schedule work, ability to quickly learn and apply new technology.
- Work independently with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to handle and work with interruptions during normal office hours.
