Network Engineer

We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic and personable Network Engineer who can help us design and configure network components for our clients across the country. Based in our modern Atlanta office you will be the backbone of our seamless integration of network services.
What you’ll be doing
As part of the Captive Portal Team, you’ll be responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and reliable operation of our network infrastructure. At all levels, colleagues will rely on your expertise in networking protocols, hardware configuration, and security measures. It’s a role with a lot of variety, and day-to-day, you’ll mainly be involved with:
- Designing, planning, and implementing complex access network solutions that align with business requirements and industry best practices.
- Configuring and maintaining network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls in high availability environment.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining CUPS (control and user plane separation) based cloud native BNG environment.
- Installing new software releases, system upgrades, and patching.
- Monitoring and optimizing network performance on vRouters/vBNG deployed within Kubernetes.
- Troubleshooting escalated network issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define network policies and procedures to meet business needs.
- Providing excellent customer support to existing and potential customers, technical guidance, and mentorship to fellow engineers, and continuous 24x7 support of Boldyn Networks’ LAN/WAN and WLAN infrastructure.
- Maintaining and supporting high density public Wi-Fi network infrastructure.
- Exploring emerging networking technologies and best practices.
- Contributing to an on-call rotation for timely issue resolution.
- Participating in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Assist in administration, maintenance, development and implementation of policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of information and availability of systems.
What you’ll bring

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent certification with at least one of the following certifications (or equivalent experience): CCNP, CCDP, CCDE, CCIE
- Strong background in Network Engineering with a particular focus on subscriber management/BNG in large-scale wired and wireless environments
- 7+ years of experience; network engineering and architecture
- 7+ years of experience; networking management (NETCONF/YANG, CLI, SNMP, APIs/JSON) and monitoring tools
- 3+ years of experience; advanced hypervisor and Kubernetes network technologies: MULTUS, SRIOV, OVS-DPDK
- 7+ years of experience; Cisco IOS-XE, Cisco IOS-XR, Linux, and wireless controller technologies
- 3+ years of experience; scripting such as scripting such as Python, JSON, and Ansible
- Proficiency in networking protocols such as but not limited to BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, HQoS, EVPN, IPv6, ACLs, PBR.
- Experience with following network technologies: RADIUS/RADSEC, NTP, PTPv2, NETCONF, SNMP, syslog, DNS, DHCP, Network Automation
- Knowledge of Wi‐Fi communication protocols and technologies such as 802.11 b/g/n/ac/ax, WPA2/3, mobile roaming, UE captive portal assistants
- Strong understanding of network hardware and configurations in a high availability environment.
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices (CISSP a big plus).
- Experience managing Cisco, Extreme, Ruckus, or Aruba controller-based enterprise Wi-Fi platforms.
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems (i.e. Red Hat and Ubuntu)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of DevOps practices and network automations
- Knowledge of DWDM, optical technologies, link budgets, and RF principals a plus
