- Estimate Pay: $52.95 to $57.93
Working Hours:
Work is typically scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. While the schedule may need to be flexible, it will not exceed 40 hours per week or 1550 hours total. The contractor may be occasionally called upon for after-hours as needed.
Summary:
The Software Engineer 3 develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes. Investigates problem areas. Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Experience in Analyzing and evaluating application performance across multiple tiers
- Experience with identification and solution implementation for performance and scalability bottlenecks and issues
- Experience with Oracle wait interface and event analysis
- Experience with Performance tuning of large Oracle databases in AWS (50+ TB)
- Experience with large Oracle Exadata databases and clusters
- Experience with Single node non-Exadata Database tuning
- Experience with Linux shell scripting, SQL tuning and session tracing.
- Experience with AWR, ASH, ADDM generation and analysis
- Experience with Oracle AWR Raw data analysis and interpretation.
- Experience Extrapolating system behavior under representative load to predict system behavior under full load/stress.
- Experience with Presenting complex results, analysis, and metrics to a diverse audience of technical and non-technical personnel.
- Experience with Troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and issues.
- Knowledge of Oracle internals pertaining to database performance
- Experience with understanding of application behavior, performance, and interaction patterns with DBs in relation to performance and scalability.
- Experience with extrapolating application and data tier metrics to explain system behavior.
- Experience with Technical writing and diagramming skills, including proficiency with modeling and mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Erwin), and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and MS Project
- Experience working with multiple teams concurrently, being able to prioritize and complete work on time with high quality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on an agile sprint team
- Experience with JIRA software
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or Business or equivalent experience
- Prior experience with an HHS agency
- Prior experience working with PII or PHI data
- Prior experience working with HL7 data
- Prior experience in the Healthcare Industry
Duties/Responsibilities
- Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
- As a member of the team, participate in requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, development, testing and deployment of new application components, as required.
- Analyze UI framework, libraries for configuration & performance tuning opportunities, as required.
- Develop, enhance and maintain existing and new web-based J2EE/Portal applications within HHSCs SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) platform using Agile methodologies.
- Create technical and design documentation, as required.
- Perform system analysis and problem resolution, as required.
- Develop and maintain data and process models, as required.
- Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure applications function properly and without error.
- Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
- Participated in program design, coding and test walk-through meetings to provide input regarding technical standards and customer requirements.
- Provide application support (defect repair, maintenance, and production operations support) for web-based Java applications in an SOA platform. Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem resolution. Analyze software for defects and performance tuning opportunities. Develop and test application code to resolve defects and improve application reliability and performance.
