Job Description
ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – the fund-raising organization of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – is currently looking for a Software Engineer III as follows.
Responsible for providing technical direction while actively engaged in the design, development, implementation, and support of multi-layered enterprise applications. Includes performing the appropriate software development lifecycle activities and serving as a subject matter expert and mentor to other software engineers. Responsible for technical analysis, design and development of complex changes or project milestones across multiple systems within a Platform, including troubleshooting, containment, issue resolution, and root cause analysis. Proactively engages with stakeholders through verbal interviews and other data gathering activities to support the development of, and enhancements to, applications and services. Uses computer and analysis knowledge to analyze, design, and write new application systems. Creates and modifies complex applications programs, tests, debugs, documents and maintains those programs. Duties include:
1. Responsible for technical analysis, design and development of complex changes or project milestones across multiple systems within a Platform, including troubleshooting, containment, issue resolution, and root cause analysis.
2.Must be able to lead and execute technical initiatives that could span across multiple systems.
3.Serve as a mentor to Software Engineers I, II, including assisting and training on technical and data analysis, problem solving, and code reviews to spread strengths across team members.
4.Proactively engages with stakeholders through verbal interviews and other data gathering activities in order to support the development of and enhancements to applications and services.
5.Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities.
6.Works with business analysts and customers to resolve problems and help plan for future needs. Involves working within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate controls.
7.Works with users to understand use of systems and system enhancement or modification needs.
8.Uses computer and analysis knowledge to analyze, design, and write new application systems. Involves color perception to design color enhanced computer screens.
9. Creates and modifies complex applications programs, tests, debugs, documents and maintains those programs.
Position based in Dallas, TX and requires in office presence.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field followed by three (3) years of experience in digital analytics, computer science or related field. Experience must include three (3) years of experience with each of the following:
- Experience writing software across multiple layers of the application stack (front-end, back-end, data and database technology);
- Experience in enterprise applications, web infrastructure, C#, PL/SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.Net, object oriented and client/server, process; and modeling, data modeling, database design, and deployment; and
- Experience in Oracle, ReactNative, NodeJS, and Angular.
