We currently have an immediate opening for a Software Engineer located at our headquarters in City of Industry, CA, and our R&D facility in Ontario, CA.
Job Summary:
The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain software modules, and contribute to AI and machine learning projects for Astrophysics’ x-ray systems. ; The engineer will work on a variety of tasks including generating data sets, data processing, ML pipeline development, and deployment.
Essential Functions:
- Design and develop assigned software modules.
- Test and troubleshoot for operation of the module.
- Automate methods to handle data preprocessing of structured and unstructured data, as well as feature extraction and data transformation.
- Work with libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, or other deep learning tools to design, develop, and maintain machine learning pipelines and automate model training, validation and testing.
- Generate reports on algorithm performance and metrics.
- Continuously monitor performance, evaluate, and retrain AI models.
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable RESTful APIs to serve the AI models.
- Test, secure, and integrate RESTful APIs with other components within the machine’s ecosystem.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Master’s degree or minimum 1-2 years of proven experience in a software engineering related field.
- Experience in Python, with an understanding of NumPy and matplotlib.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks, such as PyTorch, or similar.
- Familiarity with FastAPI or other RESTful API frameworks.
- Experience with SQL RDBMS and queries, such as MySQL, or similar.
- Takes initiative and works well independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and willing to take on new challenges as technology evolves.
- Knowledge of Docker and containerization concepts is a plus.
- Familiarity with Convolutional Neural Networks concepts is a plus.
- Experience in C# programming is a plus.
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance.
- Ability to travel, domestically and internationally, as required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- 8:00am to 5:00pm
- (Hours subject to change based on the needs of the business.)
- This position is based at our headquarters in City of Industry, CA, and our R&D facility in Ontario, CA.
