Defend the fort:
This role will help maintain a scalable infrastructure capable of supporting millions of handheld, tablet, and wearable devices. As a software engineer at Mason, you’ll have the opportunity to design and contribute to several mission critical systems including: AWS infrastructure, OS customization, device provisioning, over-the-air (OTA) updates, remote device management, and much more. This role is critical in building and supporting the foundation our customers use for many use cases: from digitizing clinical trials to improving warehouse efficiency to streamlining retail payments and more. Mason's core product is mobile infrastructure as a service ("mobile IaaS") — think elastic, customizable hardware + software + services.
Go out in that rowboat:
This role will be part of a new development team bringing a new product to market focused on worker safety. The product will be used by crews of blue collar workers that are in need of smart products that can keep them safe while they do critical tasks. The software engineer will be working on the full stack: Android device development, backend infrastructure, and front end code and design.
What you'll be doing:
- Maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud services and systems, capable of supporting millions of active connections
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex technical problems
- Lead the implementation of new features and enhancements, ensuring the highest level of quality
- Wear multiple hats - a generalist, working on a wide variety of problems from one week to the next
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Must have 2 years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend and cloud services
- Strong hands-on experience with Go, Python, or Node.js
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and AWS
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality and scalable systems and services
- Experience writing Android code in Kotlin
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Bonus points for:
- Experience in implementing and integrating with DevOps tools and processes, such as CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with the Django python framework
- Experience bringing up new products from scratch

Location: Hybrid role (must reside in WA State)
The compensation range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 USD. Actual pay will vary based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies.
