Live and Linear Tooling Team (LILOX)
This team is responsible for the management of Live and Linear airings across the spaces. This means ingesting airings as CNF from Metal, managing linear schedules to ensure no gaps or overlaps between airings on a single channel, contract resolution for blackout or features such as replay/lookback, as well as tools for the management of airings, live events, and stream health and fallback logic.
Responsibilities:
● Craft web applications specific to the managing of live and linear scheduling for the DTC services
● Manage AWS infrastructure supporting the EPG and scheduling ecosystems
● Work on improving system scale and throughput for handling high concurrency
● Contribute to a culture of collaboration and innovation
● Build quality products
● Provide on-call rotational support as needed
Basic Qualifications:
● BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field or equivalent practical experience
● 6+ years of developing software products
● Experience in programming with Java or any other Object-oriented programming language
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience with AWS technologies and cloud infrastructure
● Experience integrating media players into web applications
● Solid understanding of web accessibility fundamentals.
● Strong knowledge to web standards and new technologies.
● Understanding of async programming models (events, callbacks, promises, async/await) and threading/concurrency
● Understanding of source control concepts and systems, CI/CD pipelines and exposure to Git
● Experience with build and deployment technologies such as Jenkins and Docker. Experience with messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, etc.)
