Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for a seasoned Software Engineer to join our team in Laurel, MD!

The Software Engineer will work, within the Compute Team, with a massively parallel enterprise platform, builtwith Java on Free and Open-Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enableexecution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure on the team. Peraton is seeking a self-motivated Java developer who proactively completes tasks with a strong attention to detail. The candidate must be able towork independently and as part of a team and will be exposed to a variety of technologies depending oncustomer requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
Twenty (20) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexityis required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university isrequired.
Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Java, database technologies (MySQL Postgres etc) and havesome experience with Map Reduce programming model and technologies (such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig,etc)
Possess additional knowledge of Linux OS development, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g.,Kubernetes)
