About the Role
As the first dedicated mobile engineer at Charlie Health, you will establish the direction and build mobile applications from the ground up. You will both define the strategic foundation and lead development to create exceptional, impactful solutions. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will shape, refine, and scale our mobile experience to deliver on our mission of improving mental health care access. Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and maintain high-quality, scalable mobile applications from the ground up.
- Define and establish the technical direction, architecture, and best practices for mobile development, creating a strong foundation for current and future projects.
- Own the entire lifecycle of mobile features, from ideation and design through development, testing, release, and ongoing support, ensuring a seamless and performant user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, product, and other engineering teams, to define and iterate on mobile features that deliver user and business value.
- Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented mobile engineering culture.
- Leverage data, user feedback, and analytics to continually enhance and refine the mobile product experience.
- Drive improvements in mobile development processes, tools, and workflows to maximize efficiency, scalability, and quality.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience building and delivering native mobile applications in production environments for both iOS and Android.
- Expertise with modern mobile development technologies such as Swift, Kotlin, or similar, to deliver high-performance, user-friendly applications.
- Proven ability to build and own CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications that cover the entire development lifecycle, from testing, building, qa’ing, and listing releases in the Apple App Store and Google Play
- Experience instrumenting and monitoring mobile applications with tools such as Datadog or Sentry
- Strong understanding of mobile design principles, UX best practices, and platform-specific considerations for creating exceptional user experiences.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working closely with cross-functional product, design, and engineering teams.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex challenges into actionable solutions.

- Please note that members of this team who live within 75 minutes of a Charlie Health office are expected to adhere to a hybrid work schedule.

Additional Information
The total target base compensation for this role will be between $175,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. In addition to base compensation, this role also offers a performance bonus. Please note, pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location, experience, expertise, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Further, cash compensation is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may include stock options and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits.
