Join our dynamic team at DGS, a cutting-edge data solutions company, for wireless networks, where innovation meets excellence in the realm of Radio Frequency (RF) awareness and environmental monitoring technologies. We are seeking a qualified candidate for the role Digital Signal Processing Engineer with experience tackling complex digital signal processing challenges. We need individuals who are not only adept at problem-solving but also possess a creative mindset, capable of working autonomously or within a small team. The ideal candidate will have pre-deployment experience.
Role overview:
As a DSP Software Engineer specializing in 5G wireless communication systems, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing digital signal processing algorithms and software for next-generation wireless communication systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet the demanding performance and reliability requirements of 5G networks.
In this role, you will:
- Design and develop digital signal processing algorithms for various aspects of 5G wireless communication systems, including modulation/demodulation, channel coding/decoding, synchronization, and beamforming.
- Implement DSP algorithms in embedded software and firmware for real-time signal processing on hardware platforms such as FPGAs, ASICs, and DSP processors.
- Optimize DSP algorithms and software for performance, power efficiency, and resource utilization, considering the constraints of embedded systems and real-time processing.
- Integrate DSP software components into larger system architectures, working closely with hardware engineers, RF engineers, and system architects to ensure seamless interoperability.
- Develop test plans and procedures for validating DSP algorithms and software against system requirements and performance specifications. Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and robustness of the software.
- Document DSP algorithms, software designs, implementation details, and test results to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system engineers, software developers, RF engineers, and test engineers, to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule or work independently.
The Ideal candidate would:
- Familiarity with DSP hardware architectures and platforms, including FPGAs, ASICs, DSP processors, and software-defined radios.
- Solid understanding of digital signal processing theory and algorithms, with a focus on wireless communication systems and standards (e.g., 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi).
- Proficiency in software development using programming languages such as C, C++, or Python, with experience in embedded software development preferred.
- Knowledge of wireless communication protocols, signal processing techniques, and RF principles.
- Experience with software development for 5G wireless communication systems, including PHY layer algorithms and protocols.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience
- Master’s Degree with a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience
- PhD with a minimum of nine (9) years of experience
- Background in software- defined radio and digital communication theory
- Knowledge of communication systems design and/or RF design
