Job Summary:
As a Senior Software Engineer at Statsig, you will be a key technical leader within the team, owning the development and continuous improvement of core components, features, or systems. You will take on a pivotal role, driving projects to completion with minimal guidance, while also contributing to the overall growth and efficiency of the team and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Component/Feature Ownership:
Own and lead the development of a particular component, feature, or system, demonstrating expert end-to-end understanding. Maintain high standards for reliability, performance, and scalability.
Productivity & Delivery:
Consistently deliver projects of large scope and complexity with a proven track record of high productivity. Take responsibility for ensuring that features are built to a high level of quality and completed on time.
Problem Solving & Proactivity:
Act as a proactive problem solver, identifying and addressing issues before they become critical. Propose and implement solutions independently, driving results without requiring close supervision.
Process Improvement:
Continuously seek out ways to improve the development process for easier, faster delivery of new features. Champion best practices and ensure the system architecture supports the team's needs.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
Lead small projects or teams, including organizing meetings, writing status reports, and coordinating tasks across multiple teams. Build strong cross-functional relationships and foster a culture of empathy, collaboration, and open communication.
Mentorship & Feedback:
Mentor and support the growth of other engineers through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing. Actively participate in team-building initiatives and contribute to making the broader engineering organization better.
Self-Improvement & Growth:
Demonstrate a commitment to self-improvement by continuously learning new technologies, tools, and methodologies. Proactively seek feedback and work with leadership to grow and improve in your role.
Engineering Culture & Contribution:
Contribute to the larger engineering culture by participating in recruiting, mentoring new hires, managing interns, and supporting diversity efforts. Play an active role in the evolution of the engineering team’s standards, tools, and processes.
Key Qualifications:
Ability to work full-time from our Bellevue, WA office.
4+ years of experience in software engineering with demonstrated technical leadership skills.
Proven track record of owning and delivering projects of significant scope with high-quality results.
Strong problem-solving ability, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Ability to mentor junior engineers and influence team development.
Solid understanding of modern software development practices, architecture, and technologies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships across teams.
