JOB SUMMARY:
As a key member of Technical Services Department, this position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of network administration including servers, desktop systems, communications, hardware/software and peripheral systems.
ORGANIZATIONAL STATUS:
This position reports to the Director of Information Technology and will work closely with the Sr. Network Administrators and other IT staff. To be successful in this role, a strong understanding of network infrastructure and the ability to administer and troubleshoot network devices are needed. This position requires excellent technical, customer service, and organizational skills to support network operations.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain, analyze, and fix computer systems, hardware, printers, and computer peripherals
- Offer your support on a variety of computer hardware and software issues by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems
- Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, licenses, and access rights
- Monitor all alerts and respond as necessary
- Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, Ethernet networks, network cabling, and other
- related devices
- Provide second level support to helpdesk staff for end-user system or application issues
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging tools and technologies
- Deploy and configure new network hardware and software following change management standards
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference
- Assist IT Director with tasks regarding IT initiatives
- Participate in on-call rotation with Network Administrators
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-2 years of practical Network Administration experience or a Degree or Certificate in Information Technology
- Knowledge of setting up remote access for users
- Ability to support network peripheral devices
- Working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills and apply them as needed
- Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization
- Ability to succeed in both team and independent work environments
