What you'll do...
International Sam’s Tech (which is part of Walmart International business unit) is a fast-growing group, focusing on strategic initiatives for International Sam’s Club markets. As part of this group, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, building, and maintaining software that enables Sam’s Clubs to operate efficiently and seamlessly with low costs and pass on these savings to our customers along with the best experience and satisfaction possible. You will be part of the application development team in software design and implementation, upholding our architectural patterns, design patterns, coding standards, quality principles, and customer focus.
- Provide technical leadership and vision to lay out, influence, and lead architecture, design, and technical excellence of disparate applications
- Provide innovative solutions
- Influence latest design patterns and technologies
- Articulate the specifics of quality design while enforcing engineering principles
- Maintain high standards for code quality and can hold the engineers that you work with accountable to those same standards
About the Team:
Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few.
What you'll bring:
- 10+ years of experience in Java/J2EE/Spring Boot
- 2+ years of experience in any of the JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular
- Full stack expertise and ability and experience owning and leading an entire application
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience with architectural, design and testing patterns
- Solid experience in large scale distributed systems and event-driven architecture
- Exposure to Kafka or other high volume, low latency messaging infrastructure
- Solid experience in building and consuming RESTful Microservices
- Experience with Container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes
- Practical exposure to Agile Methodologies
- Deep understanding of CI/CD
- Good experience with any public cloud platforms and cloud native services
- Ability to perform in a team environment
- True passion for technology
- Ability to sweep us off our feet

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
