Who you are:
As a Software Engineer for Johns Hopkins Health Plans, you have an established track record of developing and delivering high-quality hosted and cloud-based software applications and solutions. You possess deep technical aptitude, outstanding programming skills, excellent task management and communication skills, and have a passion to make a difference! You demonstrate the ability to balance business goals, technology strategy, and time to market in a sustainable way.
Please note: US citizenship is required for this position as it falls under the terms of a government contract (to ensure compliance with DODPSP).
What you’ll do:
- Develop new features, enhance existing features, and optimize existing functionality, from conception and design through testing and deployment.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise web applications on-prem and in the Azure cloud using C#, .NET Framework, SQL Server, and React
- Design, build, and deploy React library-based applications in the .NET framework
- Gather specifications and planning software workflow architecture; review and maintain code developed by others, with a keen eye for maintainability, security, and quality.
- Share knowledge of emerging technology shifts and security best practices.
- Work in a full-stack development environment alongside a small agile team with the ability to pivot between our legacy stack and a streamlined, modern cloud stack.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills by managing priorities, providing timely customer follow up, and timely status updates to the team.
- Create and update technical documentation.
- Participate in professional development via multiple learning channels.
- Mentor other Developers.
What you bring:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years of full stack development on Microsoft platforms.
- Experience developing/deploying enterprise web applications on-prem and in the Azure cloud using Azure DevOps, SQL Server, C# .NET, and React.
- Experience architecting and building relational tables in SQL Server.
- Experience creating and maintaining views and stored procedures in SQL Server.
- Strong security background with an excellent grasp of security principles, practices, tools, industry standards, and secure application development.
- Single-Sign On (SSO) using SAML and implementations. (e.g., ADFS, Ping, Okta)
- Experience with developing and delivering solutions leveraging API/Microservices driven architecture.
- Passion for software engineering, architecture and collaboration.

Salary Range: Minimum 45.29 per hour - Maximum 79.27 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
