Software Engineer 3 – Interoperability
The Software Engineer 3 - Interoperability position will be a part of the Interoperability Development Team supporting new and existing interface applications and services utilizing Microsoft .NET, Azure technologies and Intersystems HealthShare/Ensemble.
Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Work with developers, architects and product managers to design and implement new solutions for enterprise applications and business to business integrations.
- Develop interfaces and microservices using Microsoft .NET, Kubernetes, Kafka, SQL, and Azure technologies
- Manage full lifecycle development of mission critical interfaces
- Provide third-level technical support for deployed solutions
- Develop in-house tools for supporting operational processes of the Interoperability Development Team.
- Ensure the compliance of Healthcare regulations and standards (HL7, FHIR)
- Ensures that deliverables are reviewed for completeness and accuracy by way of code reviews and other collaborative opportunities
- Participate in the development, implementation, installation, and testing of applications software.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of team processes such as coding standards, mentorship, and feedback mechanisms.
- Document solutions for future reference.
Requirements
- BSCS, BSEE or equivalent
- 8+ years software development experience
- 5+ years of experience developing distributed applications in Microsoft .Net Framework with Microsoft Visual Studio
- 3+ years of experience in SQL coding with Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with integration platforms would be a plus (Intersystems Healthshare/Ensemble preferred)
- Strong object oriented development skills
- Experience developing microservices using Microsoft .NET and Azure technologies required
- Understanding of event driven architecture for the development of asynchronous processes
- Strong overall knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and common programing tools, knowledge of code quality measures and measuring code coverage with unit tests.
- Experience using relational databases
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Thrives in a team environment and excels in collaborative efforts
- Healthcare Interface Industry experience i.e. familiarity with HL7, X12, XML, CCD, IHE, and FHIR is a bonus
- Experience using Kubernetes, Graph, and/or Kafka is a plus.
