What You Will Do
As the Software Engineer of Web Platforms (Manager) at Freshpet, you will have a strong bias for action, be motivated to innovate and will be an outside-the-box thinker. This person will serve to work cross-functionally with the strategic initiatives and digital marketing teams.
How You Will Make An Impact
· Contribute to the full software development life cycle including requirements, design, implementation, testing and documentation
· Write clean, maintainable code and develop new features and components for our Direct-to-Consumer site, Master brand website, FreshpetVet.com, and other owned digital properties
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build and improve digital products
· Lead development of new consumer experiences, external/internal databases, and digital marketing tools
· Guide on best technology stack to enable us to build 1:1 relationships, engagement and personalization for pet parents
· Provide guidance and leadership on product development & engineering to the team and promote best practices across the team
· Ensure systems are reliable, scalable and high-performing while troubleshooting issues when they arise
· Support business development for new business models to connect directly with pet parents and connect with our customer tools
What You Will Bring
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
· 5+ years of experience in software engineering
· Expertise in working with technologies such as Javascript, Liquid, React, NodeJS, SQL Databases, Next.js, GraphQL, and Vercel
· Experience with e-commerce systems like Shopify, Ordergroove and customer care technologies highly preferred
· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
· Experience working with large scale systems and event driven architectures
· Strong communications and collaboration skills
