Job Description:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.
Looking for a talented and highly motivated Data Ops L3 support Engineer & Data Virtualization Expert, implementing the architecture, access restrictions, business logic and metadata for end to end set up of Virtualization Layer. The ideal candidate shall be an expert in creating views and tuning queries in our Data Access & virtualization Layer, including queries federated across different database technologies. The candidate will understand the strengths and weaknesses of the various architectures and have experience in implementing the tool from conception to production. Candidate should have strong background in setting up & defining procedures for L3 support team for seamless production executions & issue management.
Role Overview:
- Enterprise Risk & Finance Technology’s EIT team is looking for motivated new talent to drive the end-to-end automation goal for EIT. This role will-
- Support the requests from end-users, analyzing and responding to the end user with a solution.
- Ensure timely resolution for all the Production Support issues irrespective of platform.
- Maintain logs and documentation to keep track of the requests
- Formalize SLAs, create processes for Incident Management communication and processes serving as a bridge between the EIT business partners and the data providers
- Production support including resolution of complex technical issues, provide expertise in partnership with applications team
- Troubleshoot to root cause during production failures
- Analyze complex queries and advise resolution
- Create and maintain database connections with various application
Responsibilities:
- Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
- Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
- Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
- Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
- Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
- Automates manual release activities
- Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
Required Qualifications:
- At least 10-15 years of experience in Data, SQL & ETL
- Experience in migrating large code bases to Git, across several languages, with an understanding of how they integrate with the build systems
- Substantial programming experience: real world use of Python is necessary with an interest in programming languages to maintain, extend and support an in-house graph computation language which is embedded in Python.
- Strong data analysis skills
- Ability to find the root cause of the issue and come up with a solution
- Ability to use business requirements to document clear and concise technical design.
- Hands-on experience in integration development, testing, and deployment experience
- Exposure to Data virtualization, performance tuning, materialized views and advanced SQL
- Exposure in end to end set up of infrastructure, process design and implementation
- Knowledge of API development, management and micro-services
- Contribute to architecture & design discussions, understanding technology components, aware of latest industry standards, tools and best practices
- Excellent communication skills, proficiency in JIRA and having prior experience working with developers and product owners
- Able to independently produce good/presentable documents like architecture/high level design diagrams at a short notice
- Able to work independently and be accountable for project deliverables and timelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict SLAs, multiple high-priority deliverables, initiatives and releases
