Job DescriptionThis position is with our Advanced Development Programs known as the Skunk Works located in Fort Worth, TX. This is a full-time technical engineering position for the Virtual Prototyping group. The Virtual Prototyping group is an advanced visualization provider of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) services and solutions to Lockheed Martin Corporation and its customers worldwide. Through the power of advanced visualization, Virtual Prototyping helps people understand complex systems and ideas by “bringing concepts to life,” allowing for better, faster decision making and, ultimately, assisting programs in winning new business and performing on existing programs. From conceptual design to sustainment, Virtual Prototyping provides discriminating technologies to support the complete product life cycle that articulate information using simulation, visualization, virtual collaboration, human computer interfaces, and synthetic real-time environments. These capabilities save time, reduce costs and risks, improve quality, and enhance safety by increasing product and process understanding. The group provides unique capabilities and tailored solutions through product visualization, manufacturing simulation, serious games applications, vehicle simulation, operational awareness, virtual training, maintainability & sustainment operations, virtual & augmented reality, battle space visualization, continuous improvement efforts, facilities development, and much more.
This software engineering position requires having a strong and diverse technical background being able to develop, integrate, and apply various modeling and simulation technologies/methods in the fields of advanced visualization, simulation, and human computer interfaces. Individual must be able to learn and quickly pickup technical concepts and software applications in effort to apply them to meet demanding program requirements. Candidate needs to have a strong programming background for rapid software prototyping development and the ability to integrate code into 3D applications including gaming technologies, augmented reality, virtual reality, and other real-time simulation tools. The candidate will be responsible to work with the Virtual Prototyping software development team on real-time 3D M&S applications and other software development tasks. The candidate will also be leveraged for additional M&S research and development tasks.
The candidate should have good communication, coordination, and organizational skills. This individual will need to be able to collaborate well with a multi-site software development team and be able to multi-task in a time critical environment.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic QualificationsProgramming or scripting experience
Real-time 3D tools including game engine programming experience
Augmented or Virtual Reality (AR/VR) experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline
Desired skillsCertified Unity or Unreal Professional.
Specific experience with gaming technologies such as Unreal, CryEngine, and Prepar3D.
Full stack application development.
3D graphics programming to include GPGPU, OpenGL, DirectX, etc.
Programming languages including C++, C#, Python, .Net, VB, XML, Perl, etc.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) approaches.
3D content development approaches.

Ability to work remotelyOnsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedule InformationLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Pay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $67,400 - $129,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
