Alquemy's client is a leading organization in the aerospace industry. They are seeking an Azure Architect on a permanent basis, this is a hybrid role and the candidate will be working 3 days/week on site at any of the locations below:

Our client is seeking an Azure Solutions Architect to be part of the Team working to design, build and test resilient architectures for existing and new systems hosted on-premises and in third party IaaS/PaaS/SaaS clouds.
Responsibilities:
- Design, modify and test technical architecture.
- Provide supervision and guidance to development teams.
- Lead the implementation of cloud-based solutions using Azure services such as virtual machines, storage, networking, and security.
- Align project requirements with technologies that are part of the organization stack to minimize support.
- Provide an architecture following organization and industry standards.
- Present architecture to, and get consensus from, various stakeholders including IT, Security and Project sponsors.
- Ensure that solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available
- Identifying and mitigating potential technical issues and risks in solutions
- Provide updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs and budgets
- Advise business groups by providing technical and strategic updates that identify and address business issues and opportunities.
- Participate in the development of best practices and standards for Azure solution development and implementation.
- Provide technical design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, system and technical support.
- Provide on-call support in support of data solutions in production and support source upgrades, Hardware/Software upgrade projects with impact analysis, fixes and end-to-end testing.
- Provide operational support on failures and outages.
- Assess and Implement new technologies by participating in the assessment of tools, software, and technological practices
- Create and maintain requirements specifications, design/mapping specifications and documentation.
- Collaborate with other teams, team members and stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer/Data Science or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in Information Technology
- 3+ years of experience developing and designing architecture using Azure Services
- Experience in end-to-end implementation of Cloud data solutions using Azure including but not limited to Azure Container Apps, Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Azure database services and Power Platform
- Relational Database Experience (SQL Server)
- Critical Thinking, Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and a positive thinker
- Experience with Azure as well as Power platform
- Source control tools (TFS, SVN, GIT, CVS or equivalent) Windows Azure, Azure DevOps, Gitlab, Azure Resources, Azure Security
- Good understanding and ability to apply various process and Design Patterns
- Hands on experience in Soap/Rest API/web service including hands on experience in building point-to-point data integrations
- Relational Database Experience (SQL Server) - understanding of Data Modeling Concepts (Dimensional and Normalization), knowledge of OLAP structures, SQL Performance Tuning
- Understanding of different types of storage and working with different kinds of data (structured, unstructured, metrics, logs)
- Understanding & Conveying of Data Models and Data Architecture #LI-DM1
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR. **This requires 5 years in Canada.
