Forward Deployed Software Engineer - Defense Tech | TS/S Clearance Required $135K - $200K | DC, NYC | ~25% Travel

Technical Requirements:
- Active US Security Clearance (TS strongly preferred; Secret with willingness to obtain TS considered)
- 2+ years of strong engineering experience (Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics)
- Hands-on experience with containers (Docker/Podman) and orchestration (OpenShift/Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in languages like Python, Java, Bash, JavaScript, or Go
- Strong Linux systems expertise
Day-to-Day Impact:
- Deploy and manage K8s products in tactical edge environments (air-gapped, on-prem, edge devices)
- Provide critical operational support, including system monitoring, configuration management, and troubleshooting
- Work in small, autonomous teams to drive end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects
- Travel to customer sites approximately 25% of the time
Tech Stack:
- Kubernetes (OpenShift, Rancher)
- CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Prometheus and Grafana
- Python, Java, and Bash
- On-prem hardware
Nice-to-Have:
- DOD 8570 IAT Level II or greater (CISSP, Sec+)
