The Story
Join this healthcare and pharmaceutical business that represents some of the world’s largest medical brands. With a number of vertical businesses across wholesale and retail pharmaceutical, this business is continuing to acquire and experience growth with operations across the APAC region.
They are looking for a Snr Systems Engineer to join their new and growing Cloud team, and work with two senior engineers to help drive Automation first and a Cloud-right approach.
Currently, their environment is predominantly on-prem, with a view to mature and move to Cloud, so an understanding of migration practices and complex AD environments is crucial.
The Role
The successful candidate needs to understand the balance between short term fix (need), vs the ability to identify and teach/support less senior engineers to solve problems and escalate when needed. The correct person therefore will be able to work autonomous and someone who is outcome focussed.
Due to the current status of their environment, you need to be able to work in the old school space (AD and Exchange), but also be prepared to get into the new world as such, DevOps change management and Automation (scripting and sharing in a community framework).
The Role will furthermore work closely with various infrastructure and applications teams, ICT Security, network, business partners, and internal stakeholders to provide BAU and deliver strategic infrastructure projects focused around environment standardisation, definition of overarching frameworks, standards and policies and ensuring other IT Support teams are able to adopt and work effectively on BAU tasks through mentoring and handover collateral.
What You Bring To The Role
- Minimum 5+ years experience as Senior Systems Engineer with exposure to Cloud
- Strong AD experience (On-prem and EntraAD)
- Strong experience in Exchange (On-prem and M365)
- Knowledge across Azure Cloud Infrastructure
- Strong experience in AWS Cloud Infrastructure
- Growing DevOps/Automation practices (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Azure DevOps, PowerShell)
- Deep understanding in the deployment and support of Windows Servers (Windows Server 2012 - 2022) and in-depth experience supporting critical server environments.
- Deep understanding of DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Management
