DescriptionAs a senior member of the Cloud Systems Engineering team, the Cloud Deployment Engineer is responsible for building the next generation of Oracle Netsuite’s ERP infrastructure in OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) or provides support to the Classic infrastructure. Cloud Deployment Engineers are hands-on with the full-stack of software-defined networking, systems, and applications.
You will be partnering with groups including project management, developers, site reliability, security, and network engineering to ensure we continue to provide a highly performant, resilient, and secure data center in OCI. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can leverage their experience, knowledge, and troubleshooting skills to implement systems and services across a wide range of technologies within a fast-paced environment.
Team Description
The Cloud Deployment Engineering group, in partnership with other teams, is responsible for the delivery of the underlying services in our data centers whether physical or cloud. This includes the framework and services for end-to-end system lifecycle management, maintaining hardware and software configuration, patching and updating operating system components, and services that comprise our overall configuration management framework. The team is highly technical and thrives on empowering ourselves and peers to deliver their services better, faster, and more effectively.
Primary Skills
- 4+ years experience with Linux administration
- 4+ years experience working with a 24x7 highly available data center environment
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Linux, RHEL, and/or other RPM-based Linux distributions
- Knowledge of networking concepts: TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, etc.
- Experience coding with Python
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
Secondary Skills
- Familiarity with Cloud Service Architectures: OCI, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.
- System administration
- Experience with SaltStack configuration management
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with collaboration tools including Confluence, JIRA, git
- BS in Computer Science or related field.

ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
