As a Data Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a data engineering team, you execute data solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Administrates, designs, implements and supports highly available and scalable cloud database solutions
- Implements data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes
- Implements and maintaining the High Availability features using Data Partitioning and Database replications
- Resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication and other data issues
- Works with, application Architect, Information Architects and Database Designers to identify DB of choice, implement the physical data model
- Develops the database performance monitoring process and analyze data for optimization opportunities
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience in Database Administration/Engineering
- Basic knowledge ofCassandra, Oracle, Postgres, CockroachDB, DynamoDB, Terraform, AWS Services
- Experience in database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning/backup and recovery procedures
- Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes
- Significant experience with statistical data analysis and ability to determine appropriate tools to perform analysis
