As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will drive next-gen implementation of our Macro KDB platform, bringing together best capabilities of on-prem and cloud-based KDB engineering solutions. Additionally, you will assist in building and supporting multi-region AWS services, from Kubernetes to ML, empowering KDB technology driven eTrading analytics.
Job responsibilities
- Automate provisioning of AWS network, compute and storage services that host Macro KDB platform
- Enforce SRE driven approach to monitor performance, capacity and cost of Macro KDB platform, across routine and volatile market events
- Integrate Macro KDB API and services with other AWS natively run apps
- Be an integral part of Macro KDB global team of software engineers
- Execute AWS based software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore emerging technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on AWS technical and software engineering concepts
- Expert in automated delivery of AWS core infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Hands-on practical experience in configuring AWS core compute and storage services (EKS clusters, EC2, FSx, S3)
- Development experience in Python
- Passionate to work with large amounts of time series data
- Hands-on practical experience in SRE of cloud-based production system
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with KDB Insights Microservices
- Expertise in KDB+ technology and Q language
- Experience with SageMaker
