Position Summary:
Azure Cloud Administrator manages the Azure cloud, Microsoft 365, and other supporting cloud-based services environment, to ensure its availability, performance, and accessibility. Responsibilities include monitoring Azure resources, managing deployments, and troubleshooting Azure issues and working with other teams to plan and implement Azure cloud solutions. The Cloud Administrator will be a key member of the team, working with the infrastructure and cyber security team to ensure the company’s cloud environment and service are running smoothly, securely, and efficiently.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions.
- Configure and manage virtual networking, storage accounts, and blob containers.
- Set up and configure virtual machines, web apps, and SQL databases.
- Monitor activity and performance of all Azure resources and services using Azure Monitor
- Automate tasks using Azure Automation and PowerShell scripting.
- Implement Azure Active Directory and role-based access control.
- Manage identities and access for users, groups, and applications.
- Configure Azure Site Recovery for disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Backup and restore data using Azure Backup and Azure Storage
- Monitor costs and optimize spending on Azure resources.
- Stay up to date on new features and capabilities in Azure and Microsoft 365, making recommendations on features/capabilities the organization should consider adopting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Azure resources to ensure cloud-services availability and performance.
- User administration for Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Intune, Defender, Azure Active Directory and Exchange Online)
- Microsoft 365 monitoring of service health, management of service requests, and change management within the Microsoft 365 infrastructure
- Maintain, purchase, and administer proper licensing compliance for company’s cloud services and infrastructure.
- Take ownership of analyzing and resolving production issues that arise during business and off-hours time periods.
- Handle issues with sense of urgency, using sound judgement to resolve within service levels, following change management processes, and communicating status throughout the process.
- Developing documentation and providing Service Desk personnel with guidance they need to handle standard work associated with cloud solutions.
- Engage and collaborate with peers and 3rd party providers to capture solution requirements, identify potential solutions, and determine recommended cloud solution designs.
- Collaborates within project teams to identify implementation tasks, assist with project plan development and to communicate progress for assigned activities.
- Collaborate with the Service Desk Team in troubleshooting network, desktop, application and overall support issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 2 years of hands-on cloud administration experience
- Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a customer-first mindset.
- Microsoft, network, and security technical stack certifications.
- Experience within manufacturing and/or logistics company environments.
- Experience and familiarity with IT security requirements (SOX, HIPPA, CCPA, PCI, etc.).
- Proficiency in ITIL 2.0 or later framework.
