Skills required to contribute:
Mandatory Experience:
- Proven experience in cloud migration, preferably to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Proven experience with JBoss (6.x or earlier) and WildFly (8.x or later) application servers, including deployment, configuration, and management.
- Strong understanding of Java EE technologies, web services, and application server subsystems (Infinispan, JGroups, etc.)
- Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization for Java applications.
- Experience with other application servers (e.g., WebSphere, Jboss) and Java EE technologies.
- Experience with networking, storage, and database management.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, and firewalls.
- Migrate and optimize application deployments, configurations, and subsystems (such as Infinispan, JGroups, messaging, and logging) from JBoss to WildFly.
- Hands-on experience with server migration, upgrades, and environment setups.
- Assess existing data center architecture, identify dependencies, and create a roadmap for moving workloads to OCI.
- Develop a comprehensive upgrade plan from JBoss to WildFly, including impact analysis, timeline, and risk management.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience in implementing them. Design, implement, and maintain Jenkins pipelines to automate the deployment and migration of applications to the WildFly application server.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy.
- Automate migration tasks using scripting or automation tools like Jenkins, or custom scripts.
- Automate routine tasks, deployments, and monitoring using shell scripting (Bash, Python)
- Configure, test, and deploy WildFly application servers in various environments (development, testing, production).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, Security, and Operations to ensure a seamless migration process.
- Maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and architectural changes.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex issues during migrations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
