Job Title: Solution Architect - Cloud Solution Architecture (Data)
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Solution Architect (Data) with a strong background in Data
Engineering in building Cloud and Modern Data Platform technologies. The Solution Architect will be
responsible for designing and implementing cloud data solutions, ensuring the integrity and scalability of
our data platform, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights that drive
business value.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop robust, scalable, and efficient data architecture to support the
organization's data needs, including data storage, data processing, and data integration.
Help bridge the gap between the existing skill sets of data engineers’ / data scientists and Cloud
environments for the production grade delivery of analytics solutions
Grow data platform capabilities to solve new data problems and challenges leveraging cloud
platforms
Help the team optimize cloud data platform architectures and calculate, monitor and optimize
spend
Provide data security oversight and recommendations utilizing tools like Alert Logic
Design and implement Audit and Security.
Guide a team of Data Architects and Software Developers to build, deliver, and support a
generation of data-intensive applications serving internal business needs
Hands-on implementation of Data Cloud applications, primarily using Hadoop, Python,
Elasticsearch, and the AWS stack
Lead the implementation and migration of data systems to modern data platforms, such as
cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes, to improve performance, scalability, and cost-
efficiency.
Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to
understand their data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Evaluate and recommend cutting-edge tools, technologies, and best practices for data
engineering and modern data platforms, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic
goals.
Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories to ensure data
consistency, accuracy, and standardization across the organization.
Design and implement data security and privacy measures to ensure compliance with relevant
regulations and industry standards.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the data engineering team, fostering a culture of
continuous learning and improvement.
Monitor and troubleshoot data platform performance issues, proactively identifying and
implementing optimizations to ensure optimal system performance.
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop and maintain project
plans, timelines, and resource requirements for data engineering initiatives.
Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in the data engineering and modern
data platform space, incorporating relevant insights into the organization's data strategy.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on modern data platforms
and technologies.
Strong knowledge of the cloud-based data platforms, their associated services and technologies
in AWS framework
Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale data solutions, including data
warehouses, data lakes and real-time data processing systems.
Hands-on experience designing distributed systems and applications on the AWS Cloud including
KMS, Secret Manager, AWS CloudWatch, AWS IAM
Strong knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and
their associated services and technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, Synapse, Databricks and
Delta Lake.
Proficiency in data modeling, data integration, and ETL processes.
Expertise in SQL, NoSQL, and big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
Strong understanding of data security and privacy principles, including GDPR and CCPA.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
Experience in providing solutioning in Modern Data Platform Engineering such as coming up
Roadmap, Reference architecture, effort estimation and Project Implementation plan.
Having considerable experience in providing consulting in the modern data platform spaconsibilities
