Job Summary:
As a Cloud Architect you will lead the technical strategy and direction of Trapeze’s cloud computing system that multiple business units are leveraging to serve their customers. You’ll be responsible for developing cloud strategies, evaluating cloud applications and hardware, and organizing cloud systems to meet the operational needs ensuring the smooth functioning of cloud systems with minimal downtime. You’ll evaluate and select cloud tools, establish best practices for cloud adoption, and monitor cloud security and privacy and address technical issues.

Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders and technology leaders to translate program requirements into technical solutions and system design
- Define and drive software architecture and enterprise capabilities (scalability, fault tolerance, extensibility, security, maintainability, etc.)
- Determine overall architectural principles, frameworks and standards
- Document and communicate designs, estimates, and implementation plans to program stakeholders
- Driving research, case studies and prototypes on leading edge technologies and how they can be leveraged
- Use prior knowledge and creativity to troubleshoot and solve technical issues as they arise.
- Ensure that the cloud infrastructure meets the organization's needs for performance, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness
- Keep up to date with developments on current cloud computing solutions and processes, especially how to leverage Azure services to enhance our product offerings and improve customer experiences.
- Serve as the cloud subject-matter expert for the product, sales and marketing teams
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, applications, and trends.
- Experience using Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, or other major cloud computing services.
- Strong cloud migration and data management skills with an emphasis on data privacy and security, including HIPAA.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and can thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong communication skills with the willingness to collaborate with cross-functional departments and teams.
- Track record of building and deploying mission critical, highly distributed, large scale SaaS applications
- Demonstrable experience designing end-to-end architecture involving mobile systems, embedded software and cloud services
- Experience with at least one major IaaS and/or PaaS technology (OpenStack, AWS, Azure, Heroku, etc.) including defining and scripting full topologies
- Strong knowledge of failure modes, resiliency patterns, and techniques to enable robust, self-healing architecture
- Strong understanding of infrastructure and related technologies (hardware, virtualization, networking)
