The Senior IT Cloud Architect is part of the Global IT - Technical Design team. The role is required to develop, plan, maintain and support Clariants roadmap to leveraging IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service); PaaS (Platform as a Service), SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions based on Microsoft Azure, O365 and Amazon AWS services . This role is responsible to integrate those techholgies and solutions in a secure manner into the existing Clariant infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures that meet business and technical requirements.
- Create and maintain architectural documentation outlining the structure and components of cloud solutions.
- Develop and refine the organization's overall cloud strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate cloud solutions based on technical requirements and cost considerations.
- Implement cost-effective solutions and monitor cloud usage to optimize resource allocation.
- Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and budget management.
- Ensure that cloud architectures adhere to security best practices and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement robust security measures for data protection and access control.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences to articulate cloud solutions and their benefits.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in cloud services.
- Continuously update skills and certifications to maintain expertise in cloud architecture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical requirements and propose effective solutions.
- Work closely with engineering and product teams within an Agile framework.
- Will act as a mentor to the more junior members of the team.
Requirements
- Higher education or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience around 8 years or more of relevant work experience in IT, with a focus on cloud architecture and design.
- Experience in similar roles or positions related to the job description.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Ability to operate in complex technical environments.
- Focus to increase user satisfaction, problem solving and proactive technical solutions improvements
- Adavacend English is a must, other international languages desired.
- Works independently and proactively and shows personal responsability and initiative.
